INTERNET AND LEARNING TODAY

Siva Kumari, the seventh Director of the International Baccalaurete, an educational foundation in Switzerland, approached the need to integrate Internet resources into the class. She argued that as technology evolves and more and more schools attain Internet access, the needs of educators evolve as well. Hence, the number of teachers incorporating innovative teaching techniques in their classrooms increases.

Internet can help teachers and students compare, induce, deduce, classify, and analyse mistakes and different perspectives. All of these factors encourage students to solve problems and fulfil tasks creatively; they can research techniques and learn new ways of gaining relevant knowledge; and they can also challenge other students to deepen their cooperation, thus offering interesting learning opportunities. On top of this, the use of Internet reshapes the way in which students access, filter, gather information and work individually and collaboratively. Therefore, it is one effective tool to achieve an effective way to increase students' motivation.

In the light of the above, I decided to create this website. A place where I will be sharing different learning resources, materials, links to relevant information and so much more. Everything posted here is/will be also available on Twitter under the hashtag #EduEdu. I hope you find this place useful. So, without further ado, start learning ... Today!
